Interpersonal Process Therapy

Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) is a type of talk therapy designed to help people improve their relationships and, in turn, reduce symptoms of mental health conditions like depression. The idea behind IPT is that your mood and relationships are closely connected—when relationships improve, your mood often follows, and vice versa. During therapy, you and your therapist will explore how your emotions affect your interactions with others and learn new ways to strengthen these connections while finding support in your relationships.  This therapy can be particularly effective for managing depression, though Dr. Camden will work with you to find the best treatment approach for your unique situation.

In IPT, your therapist will help you identify specific issues affecting your relationships and mood, such as grief, conflicts with others, social isolation, or major life changes. Together, you’ll work on understanding these challenges and learning skills to address them. The process may feel challenging at times, but Dr. Camden endeavors to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment to help you navigate these difficulties.  While IPT requires effort and patience, it offers a collaborative approach to improving your relationships and emotional well-being.

The No Surprise Billing Act and Good Faith Estimate give patients the right to understand cost for services. The cost for services is covered in your informed consent but you are also entitled to an estimate in writing. If you wish for a Good Faith Estimate, please ask Dr. Camden for one.     Dr. Camden is not in-network with Medicaid and Medicaid does not allow subscribers to see out-of-network providers. If you have Medicaid, please contact your plan for in-network providers. While Dr. Camden has opted out of Mecicare, she can still see you out-of-pocket if you have Medicare.    Appointment cancellation policy:  You may cancel your appointment 24 hours or more before an appointment and there will be no charge.  Appointments cancelled fewer than 24 hours before the appointment time will be billed at the regular appointment fee.
